Isola d'Elba

Family friends hosted us at their home on Isola d'Elba ("A" on map), an island off the coast of Toscana (Tuscany) known from ancient times for its iron mining and, more recently, for Napoleon being exiled there. Every beach around the intricate coastline is different than the last - some rocky, some sandy; some with nearly private sunsets, others bustling with restaurants and shopping - and we were able to explore several. We also visited a couple very old towns up in the hills, including Capo Liveri and Marciana.

    SO gorgeous! I can't wait to hear about it all in person. I would say hurry back, but I doubt you want to. :)

    We are starting to be ready to leave... we even made hamburgers and went out for Chinese food! We are not excited about leaving here, but we are eager to get back to our fam, friends, and home. Would love to see you soon after we return! Did you see in my earlier post that we have seen your "twin" several times on this trip?? Hi-lar!:) Ciao!
